Parent Information Nights 2016

What is it?

Parent Information Night is your opportunity to hear directly from your child’s teacher about what your child will be learning and doing this year. Specific class policies and expectations will also be discussed.

The “specials” teachers will be giving their own presentations on these nights regarding the Art, French, Music, and PE programs. And the administration team will be one of the options for the third session.

There is also an opportunity to learn about Gifted Programming in the Session Options. Please pay close attention to which session applies to your situation, as there are designated times for those who are IN the program versus those who are INTERESTED in the program.

Who is it for?

Parent Information Nights are designed for parents only. Thank you for understanding and respecting this. This helps all parents get the most out of these sessions!

What has changed?

• The breakdown of grades on each night is different than the past. Kindergarten is by itself and on Tuesday. 1st and 2nd on Wednesday, and 3rd-5th (the entire MC all together) is Thursday.
• The format for all three nights has changed slightly from last year. There will still be three sessions, but we start each evening earlier to allow for additional transition time between them.
• Please refer to the following agenda for your child’s specific grade:
  • K Agenda – Tuesday
  • 1st & 2nd Agenda – Wednesday
  • 3rd, 4th, & 5th Agenda – Thursday

What do I need to know/bring in advance?

• Carpooling is strongly encouraged.
• Please anticipate that you might have a need to write a check or bring method(s) of payment. Room parents often collect for teacher funds at these nights, and 5th grade parents will need for additional payments (read at the end of this email).
• Please note that general information will be available from room parents for special classroom and PTA events, and sign-up opportunities will be posted online after Parent Information Nights.
