Morris Brandon PTA Fundraisers 2016-17
This list is to help you plan for the year. Every event is important as our PTA dollars help fund the day-to-day operations of the school to include teacher supplies, buildings and grounds, the directory, our website and more. These fundraising dollars help us to function operationally with a budget greater than provided by APS.
BRANDON JAMBOREE – October 16 (Rain Date 10/23)
Both a fundraiser and a community builder, come join in the fun! We plan to have wristbands for purchase and waivers available online this year. Each homeroom class is responsible for a Jamboree booth so grab a friend and sign up. Details to follow.
READ-A-THON – November 4-11
A Brandon tradition since the PC opened in 2009. Children recruit reading “sponsors” and are encouraged to read (and be read to) books that interest them. They keep track of their minutes and the sponsor either “pays” per minute or donates a lump sum. Donations range from $5 to over $100 per sponsor. It is a meaningful fundraiser as our children improve their reading skills while at the same time raising over $35,000 each year.
SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR – February 6-10
A wonderful opportunity for kids to explore the bookshelves and buy their favorites!
MORRIS BRANDON AUCTION – March 25
The Auction only happens every other year and raises money for the Morris Brandon Foundation. Come out and bid on some fabulous items, enjoy time with parents and teachers and raise money for the school. A perfect night!
FUN RUN – April 22 (Rain Date 4/29)
Sign up online this spring and join us for a one-mile loop through our Brandon neighborhood. Details will be updated during second semester.
