Enjoy Winter Break!
Greetings Parents and Community Members!
In the two weeks since we last spoke, we’ve held a Principal Coffee Talk, multiple school field trips, GO Team meetings, a HIVE Rally, Valentine’s Day parties, and IB planning days for our staff, all while providing quality academic instruction. Our students are cruising through their IB units, and before we know it, we’ll be planning for end of year activities like Field Day, Fun Run, state testing and believe it or not, graduation! As a friendly reminder, we are out of school tomorrow through next Monday. Please take this time to get outside, relax, and rejuvenate prior to our return on Tuesday, February 22. We’ve got a long stretch before Spring Break, and we have a lot of material to cover, activities to participate in, and learning goals to accomplish!
We got some great news this week! We were awarded a mini grant to help outfit a “staff wellness room” at each campus, a space where Brandon employees can go to relax and rejuvenate during the small amount of free time they have each day. We are working with our PTA to outfit the rooms, and we can’t wait to see the final result! We also placed new air purifiers in all of our classrooms and just updated nearly 20 classrooms with brand new 82-inch Promethean Board panels!
The rest of February will be busy with the BASC-3/BESS social emotional health screener and Child Protection Units (opt out forms have come home already for both), Spring MAP testing, and the Gifted Screening Process. We will finalize the final FY23 budget and begin preparing for our exciting end of year activities, including International Travelers Week at our Primary Center – this year’s country is India!
If you’ve called the Primary Center recently, you may have spoken with our new School Clerk, Mr. Brian Rock. We are thrilled to have Brian join us all the way from New York. He has years of customer service experience and has jumped right in with student and parent support. If you need anything, he is here for you!
As always, please let us know if there is anything we can do to help our students or community. While Brandon is a busy place, we will always make time to support our Bees.
Until next time!
