Welcome to 2021!

Greetings Parents and Community Members,

I hope that everyone had a safe and happy holiday break and spent much time with close family and little time on the computer. We’ve hit the ground running in 2021 as we plan for our Phase II Return and Learn coming at the end of the month. There is still much to get done in regard to scheduling and classroom setup, but as each day passes we continue to make strong progress. We will definitely need all the time available leading up to our January 25 K-2 return and February 1 3rd-5th return a week later. I look forward to sharing more aspects of our plan including mitigation strategies, and a sample schedule during tomorrow’s Town Hall at 10am. As always, our meetings will be recorded and posted on our Parent University site HERE.

There is also a lot more coming our way this month including budget and enrollment projections for next year, our Winter STAR testing window and ACCESS testing for our ELL students. If you are a 5th grade parent who has a student attending Sutton next year, be sure to pay careful attention to the flyer below which contains information around 6th grade scheduling options. For those that are applying out to Private school for the 2021-22 school year, all transcripts will be loaded to RAVENNA when our grading window and Quarter 2 closes on January 19.

For those who are not aware, we also lost a member of the Morris Brandon, Sutton and APS family over break. Our beloved Officer John Lovett who has helped us out so much these past several years, passed away unexpectedly over the weekend. As you can tell, this came as a shock to us. Officer Lovett could be seen every morning directing traffic at the Main Campus and always made a point to stick around and walk the building when he was done, primarily because he loved seeing our students and they loved seeing him. Officer Lovett assisted us in all of our drive thru’s and just recently spoke to our Boy Scout troop. He was a well respected officer of the APS Police Department since its inception in 2016 and will be truly missed.

While 2021 has had a tough start, I hope that we can continue to learn and grow together as we navigate this first month of 2021.  As always, if there is anything you need, please reach out to a member of our admin team for support.
