Update on Water from APS

From Dr. Carstarphen:

I am pleased to report to you today that the water you drink and use in Atlanta Public Schools’ buildings has met Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards.

This means that following the district’s voluntary water testing initiative for the presence of lead this summer, all occupied APS buildings have met the standard of being below the EPA action level of 15 parts per billion (ppb) for public water systems. This is even more stringent than the EPA’s action level for schools, which is 20 ppb. Read more

I came upon an emergency at our 6th grade campus when I came in this morning and completely lost track of time. Then I go to the Morris Brandon web site and see my visit listed front-and-center. Please have your student dress in his/her hive color. To make it easier this year, the assignments are class-wide (in the future, your student will remain in the same color hive for the remainder of his/her time at Brandon). Don’t know your student’s hive, please check here to find your student’s teacher!
