Georgia Parent Survey

The Georgia Parent Survey contains 24 questions. Parents may complete the survey using their personal computer, smartphone or tablet. The data from this survey will be used as part of the calculation of the School Climate Star Rating assigned to us by the state. We are proud to have earned the highest rating of 5 stars last year! Red Ribbon Week: October 23-27

Let Love and Hugs Replace Hate, Bullying and Drugs!

  • Monday: “RED-Y” to Live a Drug Free Life Day. Students will kick off the beginning of Red Ribbon Week by wearing Red.
  • Tuesday: “Mix It Up Day.” Wear mixed up clothes and sit with someone different during lunch today.
  • Wednesday: “Sock It To Drugs.” Wear cool, wacky, fun, crazy socks.
  • Thursday: “Team Up Against Drugs.” Wear your favorite team jersey.
  • Friday: “I’m a Jeanius! I’m Too Smart To Do Drugs.” Wear spirit wear and jeans.

After the Hive: What’s the Buzz About Middle School?

Join the Special Services committee for a roundtable discussion about the transition from Morris Brandon to middle school in the special services environment. The discussion will take place on Tuesday, November 14 from 12:30-1:30pm in the Main Campus IB room. Panelists will include parents of former Morris Brandon students who have experienced this transition and are willing to share their valuable insights, including Principal Kara Stimpson. There will be open discussion in addition to prepared discussion topics.

Election Day: NO SCHOOL and APS BOE Seats

Election Day is Tuesday, November 7
  • Early voting is underway.
  • Follow and review the NAPPS Facebook page for links to APS Board of Education (BOE) candidate videos and candidate Q&A from local news organizations. Access the NAPPS website for a detailed summary on all candidates.

Voters will select a total of FOUR (4) Atlanta Board of Education candidates.

Morris Brandon Celebrates 70 Years

As we look forward to celebrating the legacy of 70 years of excellence at Morris Brandon Elementary:

  • The first presidential speech aired on television (Harry S Truman) —
  • A farmer in Roswell, New Mexico reports ‘unidentifiable debris’ in his sheep pasture —
  • “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” was the number 1 pop song in US —
  • And Morris Brandon Elementary welcomed neighborhood families to its modern, gleaming campus on Howell Mill Road.
  • The more things change, the more they stay the same??

Parent Info Nights 2017

Parent Information Night is your opportunity to hear directly from your child’s teacher about what your child will be learning and doing this year. Specific class policies and expectations will also be discussed. Please come on your pre-assigned night:

Getting Ready for the 2017-18 School Year

Happy summer! While there’s not much to do at this point to get ready for the upcoming school year, we want to remind you of a few items to have on your radar if you have not already done them:

  • Register / Re-Register for OR Release carpool numbers. It’s easy to do and you MUST register even if you plan to only use carpool once. Click here for the form or here to read more about Carpool information.
  • Buy required school supplies if you did NOT already purchase a kit this past spring. If you purchased a kit, your items will arrive to you by July 21. If you did not, you can find the various lists here. Please note that there are a number of items that are required to be purchased through the PTA!
  • If you have a rising kindergarten student, purchase a yard sign here to let everyone know about your pride and excitement to have a Brandon Bee.
  • Watch the website and BeeMail for some key summer updates!
