The BEE Fund – BEElieve in Brandon

BEELieve in Brandon

2017-18 BEElieve in Brandon: The BEE Fund

The BEE Fund is the largest source of funding for the Morris Brandon Elementary School Foundation.

Donate today to preserve the legacy of excellence at our school. Every gift matters because every student matters!

What is the BEE Fund?

The BEE Fund is the annual campaign to raise funds for Morris Brandon and is the most effective vehicle for parents to support the school and our teachers. All BEE Fund donations support the Morris Brandon Elementary School Foundation, which is the non-profit foundation that provides funding for major items not covered by Atlanta Public School budgets, such as curriculum enrichment, capital improvements and those special “extras” that enhance your child’s public school education every day. Learn more about how the money is used below.

2017-18 BEE Fund Goal: $250,000
Deadline to Donate: October 6, 2017

Elevate the Foundation and its investments by making a donation to the BEE Fund.

What is the Goal?

We have two ambitious goals this year:

  • 100% participation from parents, teachers and staff
  • Raise a minimum of $250,000 by October 6, 2017

Every gift makes a difference! Join us today and help us reach 100% participation by making a tax-deductible donation. There is no better investment than in our children’s education.

How is the Money Used?

As a result of the money raised through the BEE Fund, the Foundation was able to provide the following enhancements to Morris Brandon during the 2016-2017 school year:

  • Saxon Phonics, which is a phonics program for grades K-2 (over 500 children).
  • Shurley English program for grades 3-5 that strengthens grammar, reading and writing skills (over 500 children).
  • A Eureka math manipulative kit for every homeroom in each grade to facilitate hands-on learning of Morris Brandon’s newly adopted math curriculum.
  • Faculty-wide, professional development workshops in the areas of Eureka Math (the math curriculum Morris Brandon adopted this year) and Best Practices for Educators in Teaching Executive Functioning Skills in Children.
  • Leadership stipends for instructors who have taken on extra responsibility as part of Principal Stimpson’s leadership committee.
  • Personnel funding for a technology specialist, front desk administrative help and security officers for carpool.
  • Funding for the cost to resurface the Main Campus playground (approximately $85,000) to ensure the continued safety of all students using it. The original surface was installed 9 years ago and had reached the end of its life due to regular wear and tear.
  • Purchase of clay, glaze and tools for every student to make a ceramic piece in art class.
  • Purchase of curriculum for the International Travelers program, which supports the International Baccalaureate (IB) mission of Morris Brandon in cultivating global awareness.
  • Procurement of needed equipment and supplies in support of the PE, Music and Dual Language Immersion programs.
  • Financial support for the French faculty and program administrator to travel to nationally recognized professional development programs over the summer, including the International Forum on Language Teaching and the Institute for Dual Immersion Leaders.
