BRANDON’S GOT TALENT RETURNS

Auditions for the 2nd Annual “Brandon’s Got Talent” show will be held during the school day on January 22 at the PC and on January 27 at the MC. Because of the overwhelming success of last year’s event, we are moving it to the North Atlanta High School theater this year in order to accommodate a larger audience!  The talent show will take place on Thursday, March 19.

Tryout information:

  1. Everyone trying out must complete THIS form no later than January 15.
  2. The talent show will be limited to 60 acts, maximum 90 second each.
  3. Group performances are strongly encouraged.
  4. Talent Show officials reserve the right to create performance groups based on similar auditions.
  5. Performers are required to provide their own music, queued to the correct place for tryouts and performance.
  6. Performers should be able to handle their own props with ease.
  7. Attendance at the dress rehearsal is mandatory in order to be in the show.

Talent Show FAQs:

  1. What time are tryouts? Are they after school?
Auditions take place during school. We don’t have specific times assigned, but students will be brought to the auditions by class on their assigned day.
  2. What if my child is sick or out of school during auditions? Is there a make up opportunity?
The makeup date will be Wednesday, January 29th at 2:40 in Mr. Ashton’s classroom. This will be for both campuses. If they are unable to attend that, email us directly.

  3. Will there be musical instruments and microphones available for my child to use during auditions and the performance?
Piano, microphone, and mats will be available at the audition and performance. Any additional instruments/props must be provided by performer.

  4. For a tumbling routine, does my child need to provide his/her own mats for auditions and for the show?
Piano, microphone, and mats will be available at the audition and performance. Any additional instruments/props must be provided by performer.

  5. Can my child be in more than one act?
They can audition to be in one group act and/or one solo act. No more than two acts per performer.

  6. If I haven’t uploaded my music before auditions, can my child still try out?
Please make every effort to upload the music before auditions. If you aren’t able to, please contact us before auditions to discuss alternative solutions.

  7. I am having trouble uploading the music. What can I do?
Make sure you’ve tried to upload the music yourself at least 48 hours or more before your child’s audition day. If you can’t get it to work, email caren.solomon@gmail.com and she will try to help. Emails received later than that might not receive help.

  8. When will we find out who got in and who didn’t?
Results will be shared by Monday, Feb. 3.
